Crafty rappers making craft brews.
The craft beer scene in Atlanta has exploded in recent years, yet there are few breweries in town that have the distinction of being Black-owned. Nappy Roots members Fish Scales and Skinny DeVille are hoping to shake that up. Earlier this month the duo opened Atlantucky Brewing, a brand new brewery situated in the heart of Castleberry Hill – and very aptly in a building owned by Atlanta icon Herman J. Russell’s family.
Check out our latest Bounce Back episode to hear how they’re hoping to continue the legacy of the historic neighborhood and bring craft beer to hip-hop.
Be sure to follow @atlantucky on social media and let us know if you visit the brewery. They’re also allowing local artists to use the space to display and sell their work, so head down to Castleberry Hill and support local creators!
